Tripura: Pradyot Debbarma Urges Centre to Expedite Tiprasa Accord Implementation

TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has once again reached out to the Centre for the effective implementation of the Tiprasa Accord signed in March this year.
In a recent social media post, Debbarma directly addressed Union Home Minister Amit Shah, emphasizing the need for swift action to realize the terms of the agreement.
Tiprasa Accord, signed between the Government of India, Government of Tripura and the indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance in March 2024 focuses on resolving issues pertaining to history, land rights, political rights, economic development, identity, culture and language of the indigenous people of Tripura.
He pointed out that despite numerous provocations from various elements, the Indigenous people in Tripura have been highly anticipating a solution for safeguarding their rights.
The TIPRA Motha founder said that a solution for the Tiprasa people is a must.
“Thank you for your kind words Respected Hm @AmitShah Ji I am privy about how high you hold the maharaja and I know about your regards for him . Also hoping that the tiprasa accord talks begin soon . We have been waiting patiently despite several provocations by certain elements . A solution for the tiprasa people is a must,” Debbarma’s X post read.

Earlier, Debbarma informed that he and Motha president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl will be representing officially for the talks along with Government of India and state government on the Tiprasa Accord.
He said that both will represent and impress upon the aspirations and demands of the indigenous people of the state.
The 6-member working group will include two members each form the centre, the state government and the Tipra motha.
Worth mentioning, the political dialogue for the implementation of the Tiprasa accord is expected to begin soon.
