The launch event, presided over by Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha and attended by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Puneet Agarwal, Director General of Tripura Police Amitabh Ranjan, and other dignitaries, emphasized the collective effort of various agencies involved in the electoral process to ensure a trouble-free environment conducive to high voter turnout.

CEO Puneet Agarwal highlighted the target of surpassing the 83% voter turnout recorded in the previous Lok Sabha elections, aiming for an even higher participation rate in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha polls.
He emphasized the importance of providing a level playing field for all candidates, ensuring equal opportunities for campaigning without hindrance.

To achieve the objectives of “Mission Violence-Free Election 2024,” authorities outlined an eight-point strategy.

The polling in Tripura will be conducted in two phases, with elections for the West Tripura seat scheduled for April 19 and East Tripura constituency on April 28.

Meanwhile, “Home Voting” for elderly and differently-abled voters will commence on April 10.

Additional central paramilitary forces which have already arrived been deployed in large numbers to oversee the electoral process.

In the lead-up to the elections, extensive efforts have been made to maintain law and order, with over 2500 flag marches and area domination patrolling conducted by CAPF and state forces during last one month.

Voting for the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat and Ramnagar (Assembly by-polls) will be held on April 19. Polling for the Tripura (East) Lok Sabha seat will be held on April 26.
