Tripura 2023 polls: Crucial BJP meet in Delhi today; Modi, Shah likely to attend

BJP central leaders are holding a strategy meeting in new delhi today to finalise the party’s election strategy in Tripura. Reports say PM Narendra Modi and Union HM Amit Shah besides party national president JP Nadda are expected to attend the meeting.

Top Tripura BJP leaders including CM Manik Saha and Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Barma will also be present. BJP national President JP Nadda had earlier held a meeting with Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee and discussed the party’s poll preparedness for the Assembly election besides organisational matters.

The meeting comes ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Agartala on Dec 18 during which he is scheduled to interact with beneficiaries of PM Aawas Yojana scheme. It may be mentioned that assembly polls in Tripura is due by March next year.

After a record breaking clean sweep in Gujarat, the BJP has now sets it’s eyes on the upcoming assembly elections in the 2 Northeast states of Tripura and Meghalaya. The meeting today assumes a lot of significance, since the BJP leaders will huddle at the national capital in a bid to consolidate it’s position further in Tripura and retain power.
