Will fight to defeat those who are against TIPRA Motha’s demand for a Greater Tipraland, Deb Barma said adding that he decided to turn down New Delhi’s offer as his

In a big development, TIPRA Motha chief and royal scion, Pradyot Deb Barma said on Friday that he has decided to turn down New Delhi’s offer as there has been no written assurance from the Government of India about a constitutional solution to TIPRA Motha’s demand for a Greater Tipraland. The regional party of Tripura has decided to fight the polls alone and said that the fight would be to defeat those who are against their demand for a Greater Tipraland.

“No alliance – – my heart does not agree and so I have made my decision that I cannot accept New Delhi’s offer!… I can’t betray our cause and our people!”, the TIPRA Motha chief said in a strong and confident sounding message posted on his social media platforms just a while back.

Explaining his decision, the TIPRA leader said, “I will not enter into any alliance till the time Government of India assures a constitutional solution to our demand for a Greater Tipraland. There will be no compromise on our demand. They (Government of India) have not given anything in writing”.

Deb Barma said that the candidates list of TIPRA Motha will be announced today and the fight will be to defeat all those who are against their demand for a Greater Tipraland.

Sounding extremely confident and vehement, Deb Brama said, “Be ready. Jitega toh jitega harega toh harega but will put up one last fight”.

TIPRA Motha had earlier said that the party would contest 40-45 of the 60 seats for the Assembly elections to be held on February 16.

TIPRA Motha had earlier reached out to IPFT for an alliance. IPFT is presently an ally of BJP in Tripura.
