Specially-Abled Woman Gangraped by Her Husband and His 5 Friends in Agartala

The Amtali Police launched an investigation into the matter and arrested the specially-abled woman's husband today

In a horrifying case of sexual violence and betrayal, a specially-abled woman was allegedly gang-raped by her husband and his 5 friends in Agartala, Tripura.

The incident has been reported from Jogendranagar in Agartala.

The incident occurred on March 14 when the victim was alone at home.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim on the same day, the Amtali Police launched an investigation into the matter and arrested the specially-abled woman’s husband today. While the 5 other accused are currently absconding. Police have launched a manhunt to nab them.

Sub-Inspector Susmita Debnath of Amtali Police Station said, “On 14th March we have registered a case of gang rape. Based on the complaint by the specially-abled woman, we detained Subrata Dey for questioning and subsequently arrested him. However, the other accused are currently on the run. A manhunt is underway to nab them.”

Police said that Subrata Dey, along with his 5 friends committed the crime under the influence of alcohol.

As per inputs, Subrata Dey was residing at his in-laws’ house.
