President Droupadi Murmu set to visit Tripura today

President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Tripura during which she will inaugurate several development projects.

The President is scheduled to land at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala at 11.15 AM and then leave for laying the foundation stone of the Judicial University.

Later in the day at 3.30 PM the President will virtually inaugurate the MLA Hostel at Capital Complex, Agartala, and lay the foundation stone for various projects including the Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Museum and Cultural Center at Pushpabanta palace.

In the evening at 6.30 pm, the Agartala Municipality Corporation organized a Civic reception of the President at the Agartala Town Hall.

The following morning at 8.45 am the President will be flagging off trains from Agartala rail station including one connecting Agartala to Kolkata via Guwahati and the other Jan Shatabdi Express connecting Jiribam in Manipur to Agartala in Tripura.

The President will also visit the Matabari temple and then leave for Guwahati by air.

Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu will arrive on a 2-day visit to Assam on October 13. During the visit, President Murmu will attend a civic reception accorded by the Assam government at the Administrative Staff College in Guwahati.

President Murmu will also visit IIT Guwahati where she will inaugurate the Param Kamrupa supercomputer facility at the institute.

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Assam minister for Science and technology and IT Keshab Mahanta will accompany President Murmu to IIT Guwahati.

As per inputs, the event at IIT Guwahati will also include the virtual inauguration of a Medical college and Hospital in Dhubri besides the foundation laying ceremony for zonal institutes of the national institute of virology at Dibrugarh.
