TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Thursday said that the party would hold a mammoth political rally at Khumulwng in Tripura on Oct 14.
Debbarma, who is all set to depart for New Delhi with the aim of securing funds from central government for the advancement of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) areas, said that during the mega rally he intends to make important declarations and clarify the party’s stance.
He hinted at TIPRA Motha’s intention to revive its protest movement against the government for failing to fulfill its promises and provide funds for the TTAADC.

Debbarma made his announcement after a meeting with Tripura Chief Secretary JK Sinha at the secretariat, discussing about the ongoing financial crisis in the TTAADC, which has resulted in the suspension of development projects and delayed salary payments to government employees.
Earlier, Debbarma had also discussed an issue, TTAADC facing financial constraints, with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Asked about Tripura Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman’s recent appeal to him asking him to join Congress back, Pradyot, the former Congress president of Tripura, stated that his current focus is on providing constitutional solutions for the tribal population.
Earlier, Sudip Roy Barman had appealed the TIPRA Motha leader to return back to the Congress fold and also merge his party with the Congress. Offering the position of Tripura Congress President, Barman said that he feels Pradyot is still a part of the Congress.
