Lok Sabha Election: Tripura East BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma to file nomination today

BJP candidate for the Tripura East seat Kriti Singh Debbarma is all set to file her nomination today. It will indeed be a show of strength by the BJP as supporters and party workers in huge numbers are expected to accompany Kriti Singh Debbarma today for the nomination filing, besides Kriti’s brother and royal scion Pradyot Debbarma and top leaders of the state BJP.
Earlier this morning, Kriti Debbarma offered prayers at the Mangal Chandi temple located within the historic Ujjayanta Palace.
Kriti Debbarma also spoke to Northeast Live ahead of filing her nomination papers.
She said, “Everyday is a new day to begin a new chapter in your life, I always take the blessings of Maa and my cows, your heart should be good. If you are good than you attract good things. I think everyone of us in our own way, whatever way we can do, start a good day, give a little bit to other living beings which are sharing our world.”
“I am not at all nervous everyday like I said is a challenge. I never knew that what is around the bend, so I am sure there must be something left for me, that is why I have been called back to my motherland and to my people. Lets see how it goes. I am sure there is no road which is a smooth road, there are ups and downs and you take each day as it comes. A warrior never loses heart, you keep fighting for it,” Kriti Debbarma added.
Kriti, the elder sister of Tripura royal scion and TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, has recently been at the forefront of political developments in the region.
TIPRA Motha, emerged as a significant opposition force with 13 MLAs in the 60-seat assembly. Earlier this month, TIPRA Motha forged an alliance with the ruling BJP in Tripura, marking a notable shift in the state’s political landscape
Who is Kriti Debbarma?
Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma, is a royal from Tripura married into the royal family of Kawardha in Chhattisgarh and a family of politicians. Her husband and parents-law are not just royals but they have been MLAs in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Assemblies.
Kriti Singh Debbarma, known as a ‘Maharajkumari’ or princess, hails from Tripura’s Manikya dynasty and is sister of Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of the Tipra Motha party.
She did her schooling from Loreto Convent in Shillong. She is recognized for her work in environmental conservation and sustainable development in the Northeast region, particularly in initiatives related to water management, watershed development, and rural projects. She has been actively involved in promoting organic farming, horticulture, and the preservation of indigenous cattle breeds along with actively promoting water management, watershed development and rural development projects in the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.She is married to Yogeshwar Raj Singh, a former Congress politician and scion of the Kawardha Raj royal family of Chhattisgarh
