Sudip Roy Barman had said that Pradyot fell into the BJP trap by signing the Tiprasa Accord which he has failed to implement

TIPRA Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Wednesday shot back at Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman and said that he is not a mouse who can be trapped.

Reacting sharply to the Congress leader’s allegations that he has fallen into the BJP trap, Pradyot said, “I am not a mouse. No one can trap me. I am not a leader who can be bought. You can but some wannabe leader with some money or by offering some position. You cannot buy Pradyot Debbarma”.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Pradyot said, “I am a lion who cannot be caged. If someone is thinking that I can be trapped then they are living in a fool’s paradise.”

Sudip Roy Barman had said that Pradyot fell into the BJP trap by signing the Tiprasa Accord but he has not been able to implement it even after 6 months of signing the Accord.

Speaking about the delay in implementation of the Accord, Pradyot said, “The main reason for the delay was Lok Sabha polls which concluded in June 4. Till June 4 nothing happened. The Tiprasa Accord was signed on March 4. Also it was important to get the NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) and ATTF (All Tripura Tiger Force) to sign the settlement accord to address their issues. The Centre needs to be more proactive”.

Debbarma, who has been vocal about the rights of Tripura’s indigenous communities, suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah must take a more proactive stance in fulfilling the promises made to the indigenous people to prevent unrest.

Drawing a parallel to the ongoing turmoil in Manipur, he emphasized that delays could lead to instability, particularly when the situation in neighboring Bangladesh is far from favorable for India.

Debbarma added that if the government is not serious about implementation of the tripartite agreement then other options are always open for him.
