In a new twist to the alleged gang rape of a minor in Tripura’s Kumarghat, Cabinet Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das, whose son is an accused in the case, has now demanded a fresh investigation by a high power team into the entire matter.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das appealed to CM Manik Saha and urged him to order a fresh investigation into the case by a high power team to ensure that the truth is revealed and justice is delivered.
Meanwhile the Minister also dismissed the charges against his son as nothing more than mere attempts by the opposition parties to defame him and the BJP.

Notably, a total of six persons have been accused so far by the state police in connection with the alleged rape of a minor on October 19.
Meanwhile the opposition parties are up in arms demanding the resignation of Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das to ensure free and fair investigation.
Speaking to Northeast Live, senior Congress leader and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha slammed Bhabagan Das and said that the Minister should have stepped down from his post first, before appealing for a fresh investigation.
