19 kg of Dry Marijuana Worth Rs 2 Lakhs Seized in Tripura’s Agartala

The seized contraband was hidden inside an unclaimed trolley bag and a backpack.

Continuing the Government’s initiative of “War against Drugs,” Tripura police have seized dry marijuana worth Rs 2 lakhs in the state.

Based on inputs, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a search operation at the Jogendranagar Railway Station in Agartala on Thursday.

During the checking of passengers, police recovered 19 kg of dry marijuana packed in 21 sealed packets hidden inside an unclaimed trolley bag and a backpack.

A case has been registered, and authorities have launched an investigation to track those involved in the smuggling operation.
