Student leader of Namchi Govt College found dead, Sikkim CM condoles death

In a sad incident, Padam Gurung, President of the Students Representative Council of Namchi Government College, was found dead in the Kazitar area of Namchi, Sikkim.

According to sources, Gurung was untraceable since last night after he was washed away following heavy rainfall. His body was recovered from a drain this morning.

The deceased’s body has been sent to STNM Hospital, Gangtok, for post-mortem.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang condoling the demise of Padam gurung wrote in social media, “Deeply shocked to learn about the untimely and tragic demise of the President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Namchi Government College, Shri Padam Gurung.

The demise of a young person is a heartbreaking event that leaves an indelible mark on the lives of those connected to them. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends in this hour of grief and pray to the Almighty to give them strength to bear this irreparable loss.
May the departed soul find eternal peace. Om Shanti!”
