Sikkim’s ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati’ initiative to shine at global stage in Dubai

MRMS is a unique endeavor that involves planting 108 trees for each newborn child in Sikkim, symbolizing universal wholeness and completeness, deeply rooted in Indian spiritual traditions.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has informed that the State government’s flagship programme ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati’ (MRMS), has been chosen to showcase India’s global climate leadership on the international stage.

This initiative, which has already garnered significant recognition within the nation, is now gearing up to leave its mark at COP28, set to take place in Dubai.

“This initiative, which has already gained national recognition, is now poised to make its mark on the international stage. I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Forest & Environment Department for the successful execution of this initiative, as well as to the people of Sikkim for their wholehearted support”, said the Chief Minister.
