Congratulating Dr. Subba, CM Tamang stated, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to Dr. Indra Hang Subba on his resounding victory as the sole MP candidate from Sikkim in the 18th Lok Sabha Election. His success is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and the trust the people of Sikkim have placed in him”.

“I am confident that he will continue to serve with integrity, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility. Wishing him all the best as he embarks on this journey, representing Sikkim and working towards a brighter future for our state. I extend immense gratitude to the people of Sikkim for granting us this landslide victory”, he added.

Indra Hang Subba retained the seat and defeated his nearest rival Bharat Basnett of the Citizen Action Party by a margin of 80,830 votes. Subba polled 1,64,396 votes whereas Bharat Basnett polled 83,566 votes. SDF’s PD Rai remained at the 3rd spot by polling 77,171 votes.

After his victory, Subba said, “If we see the results, there was not much anti-incumbency. People were pro-incumbent this time so actually we have increased the majority in the Assembly as well as in the parliamentary seat. So Sikkimese people have reposed their faith on us. They have once again trusted our party, our leadership. We will be doing our best, we will take constructive steps for the development of Sikkim.”
