Lepcha blamed the ongoing construction of the Sevoke-Rangpo Railway Line and other development projects taking place next to the highway.

Rising concerns over the deplorable conditions of the National Highway 10, BJP MLA of Gangtok Y T Lepcha has stated that the central government is doing its best to find a solution.

While speaking to Northeast Live, Lepcha blamed the ongoing construction of the Sevoke-Rangpo Railway Line and other development projects taking place next to the highway for the status of the road.

Lepcha also said that the agencies which completed the work in the past are accountable because they took it lightly and completed it carelessly.

He further stated that once the railway and other construction projects are completed, the status of the highway will also be in good shape.

The BJP MLA also added that while he was recently in Delhi, he attempted to meet Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road and Transportation, but that he had to return to Sikkim before he could schedule a meeting with him.

However, he promised to return to Delhi in the future to meet with Gadkari and discuss the state of National Highway 10.
