Sikkim man called ‘Chinese’; brutally thrashed in Bangalore

In another incident of racial discrimination against the northeastern people, a Sikkim man was thrashed by three unknown strangers in Bangalore on August 16.
30 year-old Dinesh Subba, who works in the service sector in Electronic City, Bengaluru, was on his way home at night when three bike-borne miscreants started hurling racial slurs against Subba and called him ‘Chinese’.
Subba, said that he was Sikkimese and not Chinese.
To which, the three miscreants reacted violently and started beating up Subba. Subba walked till a supermarket and fell unconscious.
Subsequently, security guard in the vicinity found him in a pool of blood with two head injuries.
Following which, they shared the information with the victim’s family, who rushed to the spot.
Thereafter, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, however, he was denied treatment on the pretext that it required police presence.
Later, the victim was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Bangalore, where he was treated. Subba received 18 injuries to his body, including two head injuries. He recieved nine stitches to his head and face.
Dinesh was kept under treatment for three days, from Aussut 16-18. He was discharged last night.
Dinesh Subba is a resident of Rinchenpong, in Soreng District. He has been working as a waiter at a restaurant in Electronics City for seven months.
He has been living in Bengaluru with his wife, newborn son, and an elder sister.
