Sikkim Govt sets new protocols as cases dip

With daily Covid cases dipping and things returning to a state of normalcy in Sikkim, the State government has decided to do away with the mandatory Covid checking at check

With daily Covid cases dipping and things returning to a state of normalcy in Sikkim, the State government has decided to do away with the mandatory Covid checking at check gates and ensure that free movement is allowed at all check post.

However, the Government maintained that people entering the state needs to have received at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine or carry a negative RT PCR report conducted within 72 hours.

In cases of tourists entering the State, the requirements will be verified by the concerned hotels where they are staying and the process shall be overseen by Tourism Department. In case of labourers, the respective contractors or Labour Department will ensure compliance.
Meanwhile, Factories, Pharmaceutical companies, Government Offices are allowed to work with 100% attendance or 100% manpower with strict Covid-19 protocols in place.

For Social, Political, Sports and Religious congregations and gatherings, organizers are permitted 50% of the seating capacity of the venue, duly maintaining social distancing norms and Covid-19 protocols and with prior permission of the DC or SDM.
