ILP in Sikkim: BJP endorses demand

Sikkim unit of BJP has openly backed the HSP's demand to implement ILP in the state. DB Chauhan said that the BJP will meet HM Shah.

The Sikkim BJP fully endorses the Hamro Sikkim Party’s demand for implementing ILP in the state.

This is clear after Sikkim BJP president DB Chauhan backed the demand and attended the HSP’s Jan Sansad to deliberate on the issue.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Chauhan said that ILP is the talking point in the Himalayan state, because of growing influx, local people are feeling insecured. DB Chauhan said this is why the people want ILP to be implemented by the Centre at the earliest.

The Sikkim BJP president said that ILP must be implemented in the Himalayan state, similar to other BJP ruled states like Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.

Besides, Chauhan also assured that his party will raise the issue with Home Minister Amit Shah and request him to take up this matter seriously.
