The Nagaland Chamber Choir wins 2 gold medals at World Choir Games in South Korea

The team won gold in two categories: ‘Musica Contemporanea Mixed Voices’ and ‘Mixed Choir’

The Nagaland Chamber Choir (TNCC), representing India at the World Choir Games held in Gangneung, South Korea, has clinched two gold medals on Wednesday.

The team won gold in two categories: ‘Musica Contemporanea Mixed Voices’ and ‘Mixed Choir’.
The team was qualified on the basis of medal-winning performances at the Asia Pacific Choir Games.

Abu Metha, Adviser to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated the team and wrote, “Congratulations. We are so so happy and thrilled !! They worked so hard for this and it’s well deserved. Nagaland is world’s best !! Nagaland Shines | India is Proud. Given the opportunities .. the sky is the limit !!”

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also congratulating the team wrote on twitter, “Congratulations to The Nagaland Chamber Choir (TNCC) on winning two Gold medals at the World Choir Games in South Korea in the categories; Música Contemporánea Voices & Mixed Chamber Music. You have made Nagaland & India proud. I wish TNCC more success in all future endeavours.”

The 12th World Choir Games started on July 3 and is concluding today.

Earlier, TNCC participated in the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

TNCC represented India in two categories, the gospel/Spiritual category and the folklore Acapella category, and won silver medals in both categories at the Asia-Pacific Championship.

Additionally, TNCC received Golden Diplomas, securing a spot in the 5th Asia-Pacific Champion tournament in 2021.
