Nagaland: Abduction of NSCN-R Akato Chophy faction members; FNR bats for peace

The NSCN-R Akato Chophy faction members were allegedly abducted by NSCN-IM cadres.
The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has stated that it is perturbed and pained over reports of abduction of 4 members of NSCN-R Akato Chophy faction and the subsequent death of a deputy Kilonser.
The NSCN-R Akato Chophy faction members were allegedly abducted by NSCN-IM cadres. The incident surfaced on July 31 from the Tizit town in Nagaland’s Mon district.
An FNR statement said that even as details are still emerging, it expresses deep sadness over the incident and made a strong call to everyone for ceassation of all forms of violence with immediate resolve.
The FNR added that just four days ago, Naga apex organizations and the Church made the urgent call in the light of the present happenings in Manipur stating Nagas resolve to abstain from succumbing to hatred and innuendos of any kind.
Accordingly, the FNR has appealed to all Naga Political Groups and Naga citizens to shun all forms of violence. The FNR said that it expects all to follow suit in order to move ahead which is the need of the hour.
