BJP national president JP Nadda today addressed an NDA election rally in Chumoukedima to drum up support for Lok Sabha candidate Chumben Murry.

BJP national president JP Nadda today teared into the Congress for ignoring the sentiments of Northeast as well as for failing to bring the desired development in the region especially in Nagaland.

JP Nadda while addressing a rally in support of NDA consensus candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state Chumben Murry (NDPP), said that Congress had strictly followed the policy of “Get The Votes, and Forget Them (Voters).”

The BJP national president said, “Congress misutilized the oppurtunities the party got during its regime. Congress got the opportunity to rule for a long period, but they never respected the time given to them, they never respected the oppurtunity given to them. That’s why because they did not give importance to the time, development and prosperity stopped. Welfare of the people was stalled during the Congress rule.

That time Congress had a policy of “Vote Pao, Uske Baad Bhul Jao (Get The Votes, and Forget Them), it is not necessay to remember them (voters). This policy was there for a long time. This is why the Congress now does not have a singe seat in the Assembly although their candidate is fighting the elections and that too Lok Sabha elections. They are fighting for Lok Sabha, they are fighting for Delhi, but they do not have any seat in Kohima, they do not have seat in Legislative Assembly. This their plight which you all have made, we have to understand that better.”

JP Nadda highlighted that the picture has changed a lot now under the leadership of PM Modi.

Speaking about the Centre’s connectivity push to connect Nagaland with the mainstream, Nadda mentioned about the improved air connectivity as well as railway connectivity during PM Modi’s tenure.

The BJP national president took a dig at the Congress for ignoring the region earlier and said, “That it was a policy of isolation, policy of ignorance, but today it is the policy under PM Modi and CM Rio, Patton and Zeliang, it is about decisiveness, and door step delivery and development. This how works are being done now. Once Congress only decided for “Forget East” whereas PM Modi is telling about “Act East. Act Fast and Act First.”

“I am happy today because PM Modi for the development of Northeast has either laid base or else inaugurated projects to the tune of Rs 55000 crore, this is how PM Modi helped Northeast to engage in development.

PM Modi has changed the culture of politics, he has changed the definition of politics, PM Modi has changed the style of politics, he has changed the approach of politics, but during the times of Congress, the meaning of Northeast was Divide and Rule. But during the time of BJP and NDPP, under the leadership of PM Modi, it has changed into DevINE (Development Initiative for North East region) government model, Nadda further said.

Not only this, JP Nadda assured that the BJP-led NDA will fully pursue for a solution to the Naga political issue once Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister for the 3rd straight term.

The BJP national president said, “It is known that the Framework Agreement was signed on August 3, 2015 and November 2017 talks began on the Agreed Position. I want to assure everyone that after Narendra Modi becomes the PM for the 3rd term than we will act real time to pursue matters related to the Accord and complete everything as required. We will fully work towards bringing permanent peace.”
