Lok Sabha Polls-Nagaland: CM Rio does not see a strong rival against Chumben Murry

In terms of Congress candidate S. Supongmeren Jamir, CM Rio said that the Nagaland Congress is contesting the elections only to save the face of the grand old party.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today virtually rejected the presence of a strong rival against NDA candidate Chumben Murry of the NDPP, who will be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the lone parliamentary seat in the state.

Taking part in a campaign rally in support of Murry at the NDPP office in Kohima, CM Rio pointed out that the NDA candidate has better and strong chances of getting elected to the Parliament as compared to his opponents.

Rio said that out of the three candidates in the fray, one among them is Hayithung T Lotha, an independent candidate who got just only one vote (2023 Assembly Election) when he contested elections before and is someone who is running the election without the support of his family or friends.

In terms of Congress candidate S. Supongmeren Jamir, CM Rio said that the Nagaland Congress is contesting the elections only to save the face of the grand old party.

Rio further said that the strength of the Congress in Delhi has also decimated and is presently in a weak condition. The Nagaland Chief Minister also accused the Congress leadership of not visiting the state even once when the party was in power in the state for over 10 years.

CM Rio affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking for development and welfare of every section of the society irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Addressing the campaign Dr.Chumben Murry underscored that Indo Naga Political issue will take a crucial stage in this 18th Lok Sabha adding that solution to the Naga Political issue is a pre requisite for development.

Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy, he said that the NDA Government is going to come back and the next five years is going to be years of development.
