Arms transportation to Manipur: NSCN-IM vows action if it’s Kilonser is found guilty

The NSCN-IM has taken strong note of reports of alleged involvement of one of its Deputy Kilonsers in the illegal arms transportation case to Manipur.
In a statement issued today, the NSCN-IM said, “The arrest of Dy Kilonser Apam alias Ngathingpam Shimrah in connection with illegal arms trafficking in collusion with one Nagaland Police Inspector has come as a rude shock to NSCN. The matter is under investigation and if found guilty befitting punishment will be awarded against him”.
An inspector and in-charge of the Arms and Ammunition branch of the Nagaland Police Central store along with the NSCN-IM leader and another individual have been accused of being involved in the illegal transportation of arms to Manipur.
The Nagaland police personnel, identified as Michael Yanthan, was arrested on July 26 on charges of illegally transporting ammunition to trouble-torn Manipur from the Arms and Ammunition branch of the Police Central store in Chumoukedima.
