Mizoram: Heroin worth over Rs 34 cr seized

Acting on specific inputs, the Mizoram Police intercepted a car leading to the recovery of huge quantity of drugs.

In one of the biggest seizure of heroin in Mizoram’s history, a consignment of the contraband valued at over Rs 34 crore was seized by the Champhai Police.

The heroin consignment was concealed in 500 soap cases. The consignment weighing 6.836 Kg was recovered from a vehicle after it was intercepted at Vengsang near Tuipui river. The driver of the vehicle identified as Lalawmpuia has been arrested and further probe into the seizure is underway.
