The incident has sparked widespread outrage, raising questions about the involvement of the ZPM and the legality of the project.

In a bizarre incident, a contractor allegedly linked to the ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) party in Mizoram, tried to convert the garage of opposition MNF’s Rajya Sabha MP K. Vanlalvena into a public toilet.

On Wednesday morning, members of the Mizo National Youth Front (MNYF), the youth wing of Mizo National Front (MNF) reached the party MP’s house and demolished the toilet.

The contractor, however, defended the project, claiming it was commissioned by ruling ZPM party officials. However, no official approvals or permits were produced.

The MNYF condemned the act, emphasizing that renovations to an MP’s residence must follow official protocols.

They accused the ruling party of undermining the dignity of an elected official, suggesting this was a deliberate attempt to flout the law.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, raising questions about the involvement of the ZPM and the legality of the project.
