Drugs worth Rs 32 cr seized in Mizoram, 2 including a woman have been arrested

Cases under the ND &PS Act have been registered for further legal action and investigation of forward and backward linkages

Mizoram police have seized Rs 32.54 worth of drugs (Methamphetamine and Heroin) at two separate locations of Champhai district and apprehended two individuals including a 27-year-old woman.

On Friday, the Khawzawl and Champhai District Police, while conducting joint operation, intercepted a vehicle coming from Champhai towards Aizawl carrying a huge quantity Methamphetamine, driven and owned by one Lalrintluanga (50) of Champhai Vengthlang.
The seized Methamphetamine weighs 115.55 Kgs (106 packets / 1,070,600 tablets) valued at Rs.32,11,80,000 at the local market.

In another instance, Zokhawthar Police team, acting on specific input, recovered and seized 124 soaps cases of suspected heroin, weighing 1429 grams, valued Rs.42,87,000 from one vehicle of a lady named Lalduhawmi (27).

Cases under the ND &PS Act have been registered for further legal action and investigation of forward and backward linkages.
