Meghalaya Games Day 1: Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills men’s football teams win opening matches

While the Ri Bhoi team won by a comfortable 3-0 margin against East Jaintia Hills, the West Garo Hills annihilated the South Garo Hills 7-0.

On day one of the 5th Meghalaya Games, men’s football teams from Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills districts won the inaugural matches beating East Jaintia Hills and South Garo Hills respectively at the Chandmari Football Ground in Tura.

While the Ri Bhoi team won by a comfortable 3-0 margin against East Jaintia Hills, the West Garo Hills absolutely annihilated the South Garo Hills by a scoreline of 7-0.

Riskhem Syiem, Jefree Kyrsain, and N. Syngkli were on the goal scorers for Ri Bhoi.

In the other match, the team from West Garo Hills ran riot as Baltimas K Marak, Nangrim M Sangma, Dimsrang Ch Sangma, R. D Sangma, and Kim Kim D Sangma, with R. D Sangma and Kim Kim D Sangma scored 7 goals while South Gaor Hills drew a blank.

With these impressive wins, both teams have secured their spots in the semi-finals of the Men’s Football competition at the Meghalaya Games.
