Meghalaya Cricket President Naba Bhattacharjee Appointed Manager of Indian Senior Women’s Cricket Team for ODI Series Against Australia

Bhattacharjee has been a key figure in the development of cricket in Meghalaya for over 15 years.

Naba Bhattacharjee, President of the Meghalaya Cricket Association, has been appointed as the Manager of the Indian Senior Women’s Cricket Team for their upcoming ODI series against Australia.

The series, part of the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship (2022-2025), will feature three matches: the first and second ODIs on December 4 and 7 in Brisbane, with the final match scheduled for December 10 in Perth.

Bhattacharjee, who has been a key figure in the development of cricket in Meghalaya for over 15 years, played a key role in securing permanent BCCI membership for the state in 2018.

His contributions to Indian cricket also include his involvement in the BCCI’s NADP Committee in 2016, and as part of a seven-member panel including prominent figures such as Jay Shah, Rajeev Shukla, and Sourav Ganguly to review the Justice R.M. Lodha Committee’s recommendations.

In addition to his administrative roles, Bhattacharjee was part of the delegation that organized a historic two-match series between India and the West Indies in Florida in 2016, aimed at promoting cricket in the United States.

The Indian women’s cricket team will depart from Mumbai on November 30 for Brisbane, where they will begin preparations for the series against Australia.

The Indian Senior Women’s Cricket Team for the three-match ODI series are: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Richa Ghosh (WK), Tejal Hasabnis, Priya Punia, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (WK), Deepti Sharma, Minnu Mani, Harleen Deol, Priya Mishra, Renuka Singh Thakur, Saima Thakor, Radha Yadav, Titas Sadhu, and Arundhati Reddy.
