Meghalaya: 3 youths apprehended for performing car stunts in Laitumkhrah

East Khasi Hills police have apprehended three youths in connection with a stunt driving case at Laitumkhrah Police Point in Shillong.

Recently a video went viral on social media, where the youths were seen driving a car recklessly.

The apprehended trio admitted to have been involved in the risky driving after consuming alcohol.

The vehicle was traced by a team of Laitumkhrah Police led by Officer in-Charge, from a garage at Laitkor Kyntonmon after a suo moto case was registered by the police with the Laitumkhrah police station.

All three accused along with the vehicle have been brought to the Laitumkhrah police station for further questioning and legal action.

After the video footage went viral on social media, the Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun had also filed an FIR at the Laitumkhrah Police Station and treated as supplementary FIR to the primary suo-moto FIR.

Police also urged the youths to refrain from performing such stunts which will put not only themselves but others on the road at risk.

The public have also been requested to provide information on such activities by dialling 112.
