Conrad Sangma said this after holding a closed door meeting with the BJP leadership in Shillong
Meghalaya Chief Minister and NPP chief Conrad Sangma today held a crucial meeting with the BJP leadership in Shillong to further devise the strategy in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Conrad Sangma in a post on X mentioned that it was a NDA coordination meeting where he expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for extending unconditional support to the NPP in both the Shillong and Tura Lok Sabha seats.
CM Sangma in his post wrote, “Held NDA coordination meeting with @BJP4Meghalaya this evening in #Shillong in presence of BJP State President Rikman G Momin, cabinet minister AL Hek, State BJP Office Bearers, District Presidents, Mandal Presidents, Morcha Heads and BJP party karyakartas.
We thank team BJP Meghalaya for coming together to extend their support and cooperation to campaign for our party candidate for 1-Shillong Lok Sabha constituency @ampareenlyngdoh and 2-Tura Lok Sabha constituency @AgathaKSangma. NDA partners- NPP and BJP”
Soon after the closed door meeting CM Conrad Sangma speaking exclusively to Northeast Live said, “Basically as you are aware that the different NDA partners throughout the Northeast have come together to ensure that the NDA comes out successful at the national elections and in the spirit of Team NDA, different partners are sponsoring different candidates in different states- like in Manipur in one seat the NPF and in the other seat it is the BJP, in Nagaland the NDPP, in Arunachal the BJP and in Meghalaya the NPP, and hence all the NDA partners have spoken to each other. I spoke to Pema (Arunachal CM Pema Khandu), I spoke to Manipur CM, Nagaland CM and we have discussed and we have worked out on how can we support each other jointly so that we come out successful in the Lok Sabha elections. So all the NDA partners are working as one.”
