Sources told Northeast Live that the visit may be somehow related to ongoing situation in Manipur

Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s visit to Guwahati yesterday has triggered speculations. While CM N Biren Singh did not speak to the media after his return to Imphal today, Minister L Susindro who accompanied the CM said that the visit was purely personal.
However, sources told Northeast Live that the visit may be somehow related to ongoing situation in Manipur and that CM N Biren Singh may be trying to reach out to some community leaders in a bid to reduce tension in the state and find a way forward to break the impasse.
It may be mentioned that less than a week ago Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in Manipur at a meeting attended by the country’s topmost security officials including the Army Chief, Army chief designate, the chief of IB, army and paramilitary commanders on ground in Manipur among others.
The Union Home Minister had also held discussions with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey and is understood to have received a detailed report on the ground situation.
