Manipur University Student Found Hanging In Hostel Room

The student was identified as Moirangthem Rojit, son of M. Bheigya of Ngaikhong Khunou in Bishnupur district
In an unfortunate incident, a student of Manipur University was found hanging inside his hostel room late Monday afternoon.
The student was identified as Moirangthem Rojit, son of M. Bheigya of Ngaikhong Khunou in Bishnupur district.
Rojit was pursuing MA 3rd semester in Manipuri subject at the University.
Sources said that the incident came to light around 5:30 pm.
According to the hostellers, Rojit did not respond when they knocked on the door and called for him since afternoon.
Hostel authorities were called in and the locked door was struck open only to find the student hanging on the ceiling fan of his room located at 1st floor of Boys’ Hostel number 1.
Singjamei Police Station has registered a case in this regard while forensic experts have also collected information and necessary investigations are underway.
Family members of the deceased student also arrived and the body has been taken to RIMS mortuary for post-mortem.
