The Manipur Government has begun construction of over 800 prefabricated houses to house people who have been rendered homeless due to the recent violence that rocked the state.
These 800 houses are part of the total 1000 pre-fabricated houses that would be built to accommodate the displaced people.

The company has begun constructing 200 houses each in Yai Thibi Lou Kol of Thoubal, Sajiwa of Imphal East, Sawom-bung of Imphal East, and Kwakta of Bishnupur District.
The Company is also awaiting orders from Kakching DC for the construction of another 200 houses at Yai Thibi Lou Kol in Thoubal District for the affected people of Kakching District.
The Government had given 20 days to complete the construction, but due to weather conditions, there has been a delay.

The CM had inspected some of the locations where these houses are being built.
