Manipur: 2 Liquor Dealers Kidnapped in Churachandpur Rescued Safe

The victims-Lalboi and Chandan were rescued after a series of coordinated operations by Churachandpur Police and the 36 Assam Rifles.
Two individuals, dealers of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), who were kidnapped on January 31 from near Chiengkonpang Cemetery in Churachandpur district of Manipur have been safely rescued today.
The victims-Lalboi and Chandan were rescued after a series of coordinated operations by Churachandpur Police and the 36 Assam Rifles.
The joint search teams conducted multiple operations in suspected areas such as Gamnom, Tolen, and Songpi, with extensive checks at hotels and other potential hideouts in town areas.
The authorities also intensified vehicle frisking in the town, which ultimately forced the kidnappers to release the victims.
Chandan, was rescued during a frisking operation by Churachandpur Police and Assam Rifles in Khomoi village on February 2.
Lalboi, was recovered during another combined frisking operation at Koite village on February 4.
Earlier, 3 truck drivers from Assam, Suhel Alam Talukdar (26), son of Bilaluddin Talukdar from Dholai, Hailakandi, Assam; Manjurul Alom Barbhuiya (27), son of Hamit Ahamed Barbhuiya from Dholai, Hailakandi, Assam; and Jamir Uddin (37), son of Ekram Ali from Dalgram, Karimganj, Assam, who were kidnapped by unidentified masked men for ransom at Songpi village, Manipur on January 31 were rescued by Churachandpur police on February 2.
