To lead the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s campaign ahead of the ensuing assembly elections, Party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda is in Manipur. Nadda reached Imphal airport this afternoon.
A large number of BJP cadres along with the state level party leaders gathered at the airport to welcome Nadda.
State Chief Minister N. Biren Singh received Nadda at the airport along with other state BJP leaders.
From the airport, they went to Kakching where Nadda will be holding a rally.
This is Nadda’s second visit during the past one week and fourth during last one month to the poll-bound Manipur.
As per reports, Nadda will address a Yuva Rally at Kakching at 2.30 pm and will guide the karyakartas of the party for the state Assembly polls.
Ahead of the party’s national president visit to the state, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi along with party leaders inspected the venue to take stock of the preparations.
It is pertinent to note that the northeastern state of Manipur is gearing-up for the Assembly Elections, scheduled to be held on March 2022.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to come to the poll bound state on January 4 to give a boost to the BJP’s election campaign.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate some development projects and address a public rally in Imphal.
