BJP MLA RK Imo Singh has pressed for a time bound inquiry into the matter.

Manipur BJP MLA RK Imo Singh has sought intervention of Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to look into the “renaming” of the Imphal airport in a few tickets of an Air India flight.

But is this actually a case of alleged “gross error” in the printing?

In a letter to Scindia, Manipur MLA RK Imo Singh said it has come to light through various social media platforms that a few Air India tickets mentioned “the ATO office of Imphal, Manipur as Air India, ATO Imphal Airport, Lamka”.

Unhappy over this, the BJP MLA reacted and said,””This is totally unacceptable on the part of Air India to have made this gross error and act of negligence/conspiracy to have altered the name from Imphal to Lamka in the official ticket.”

RK Imo Singh in his letter said there can be no error of judgement and a name of an adjoining airport has been tagged since there is only oner airport in the whole state.

Seeking Scindia’s intervention, RK Imo Singh urged the Civil Aviation Minister to look into the matter seriously and ensure that the original name of the ATO stands corrected in the tickets of Air India. Singh said that such mistakes should never be repeated again in the future.

Besides, the Manipur BJP MLA also requested Jyotiraditya Scindia to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the officials of Air India and any other officials involved from any organisation or government. The MLA pressed for a time bound inquiry into the matter.
