Nearly 100 students are missing their HSLC examination as they did not receive admit cards due to negligence and irresponsibility on the part of the school staff
The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, 2023 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) has begun today.
As many as 38,127 students are appearing in the class 10 board exam being held in 158 examination centres across the state.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been clamped in exam centres and their vicinity to prevent any untoward incidents during the examination.
It may be mentioned here that due to the negligence and irresponsibility on the part of the school staff, an academic year of nearly 100 students from as many as 19 schools in the state will be wasted since they are unable to sit for the exams because they did not receive admit cards.
The staff of the respective schools allegedly failed to submit the exam forms of the students during the stipulated period of time. The examination forms were to be submitted online by respective staff and school heads.
Meanwhile, the state education (S) department has initiated action against any negligent employees and department heads in this regard.
The state education department has issued show cause notice to the Principal/Headmaster of as many as 17 schools seeking an explanation before March 24 without fail as to why they failed to submit the examination forms on time.
