Family from Manipur attacked in Delhi’s Sunlight Colony

In a shocking incident, a man from Manipur, his wife and his sister were allegedly assaulted by a group of people in southeast Delhi’s Sunlight Colony area.

The incident unfolded on Thursday night, was captured on a mobile phone from a balcony across the street and has since been widely circulated on social media.

As per reports, the police received a call at 2.30 am on Friday from Kilokari village and found that a man had been taken to hospital after he was beaten up.

The victim, a resident of Jeevan Nagar in Ashram, suffered abrasion on his knees, redness and swelling in the eyes, and swelling on the forehead following the assault.

The police learned that the victim, his wife and his sister were dropping a friend home on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

As per reports, their phone broke down on the way and they approached three strangers, including a woman, and sought help in booking a cab to Munirka.

However, soon the strangers started abusing them and launched an assault.

The miscreants assaulted the man, his wife and his sister. Not only this, the accused called a few more people to the spot and they too joined the attack.

A case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
