Amid the unrest in the troubled torn state of Manipur, a two-hour silent protest was organized by the Manipuri Kanba Loop (MAKAL), Meitei Manipuri community of Assam in over 145 places across Assam demanding restoration of peace in Manipur.

Under the banner MAKAL, a peace protest was also observed in southern Assam’s Cachar district in different parts of the seven constituencies of the district where the Meitei Manipuri community people are residing.

The Imas were seen holding placards that read, Seal the Indo-Myanmar border, implement NRC in Manipur, withdraw SoO, Save Manipur, no violence, we want peace, stop Narco terrorism, no disintegration of Manipur, etc.

One of the members of the organization said that the violence that occurred in Manipur is not one day’s plan, but the planning was done long ago by the Narco terrorists.

“If someone dies in Manipur, whether Kuki or Meitei, we feel the pain. We want restoration of peace in the state,” he added.

MAKAL also blamed illegal infiltration as the reason behind Narcoterrorism in Manipur.
