16 Cadres of KYKL, UNLF (P), and KCP (City Meitei) Arrested in Manipur

Hemam Bebeshwor Singh (30) of UNLF(P) was arrested from the Imphal East district.
Manipur Police have arrested as many as 16 active cadres of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), KCP (City Meitei), and the United National Liberation Front (P) and recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and other valuables from their possession on Thursday.
According to official sources, the arrested individuals were involved in various subversive activities, including extortion, recruitment, and planning of attacks on security forces.
Following Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla’s big appeal for an end to hostilities and the surrender of illegal arms, security forces based on inputs and tip-offs from local sources launched a series of coordinated operations and made these arrests from different parts of the state including Bishnupur, Kakching, and Imphal East districts.
Arrested KYKL cadres have been identified as:

13.Huirongbam Ibomcha (18)
14.Mayanglambam Kiran Singh (43)
Hemam Bebeshwor Singh (30) of UNLF(P) was arrested from the Imphal East district, while, Khaidem Benarrjit singh (28) of KCP (City Meitei) was arrested from Bishnupur.
Security forces recovered fourteen 5.56 mm x 45mm live rounds, six 7.62 mm x 39 mm live rounds, seven 7.62 mm x 51mm live rounds, three walkie talkies, thirty-one pairs of Jungle boots and other tactical accessories etc. from the possession of the arrested individuals.
Security forces also recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from various locations across the state, in a series of search operations and area domination exercises.
Rifles, pistols, and other firearms, as well as live ammunition, grenades, explosives, TNT slabs, IEDs, Radio wireless sets and combat uniforms, have been seized.
