All the 11 BJP candidates would win their seats and the AGP candidate from Barpeta and the UPPL candidate contesting from Kokrajhar will win too

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that BJP and its allies – AGP and UPPL will win 13 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam. In 2019, BJP had won 9 of the 10 seats while its allies contesting from Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Dhubri and Kaliabor had drawn a blank.

The CM stating that BJP and its allies will win 13 seats means NDA will improve on its 2019 performance. All the 11 BJP candidates would win their seats and the AGP candidate from Barpeta and the UPPL candidate contesting from Kokrajhar will win too.

“The BJP (and it’s allies) are winning in 13 seats. This election is about PM Modi. Its about voting for him to make him the Prime Minister for the 3rd straight term. If people of Jorhat and Sivasagar does not vote for PM Modi than who else will? The election is happening only to elect Narendra Modi as PM and take the nation as well as Assam forward. There is no contest in this election,” Assam CM said addressing the media in Guwahati.

“Dibrugarh will be a walkover. Sarbananda Sonowal will win by over 3 lakh votes. Nagaon and Karimganj they (opposition Congress and AIUDF) have committed suicide so we will get these two seats too. We will do good in the Assembly elections in Dhubri seat as we are going to win 4 seats. But BJP cannot win Parliamentary elections in Dhubri. If we have to win there I have to completely change my principles,” a clear and confident CM Sarma said.

The BJP is contesting in 11 seats in Assam, while it has left the Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha seats for the AGP. Another constituent of the BJP led coalition, the UPPL is contesting from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.
