Indian Railways’ Big NE Push: Rs 10,376 Cr Allocated, Region to Get 60 Amrit Stations

A day after the Union Budget 2024-25 was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament yesterday, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced a Rs 10,376 crore allocation for railway projects in the northeastern states.
“This time too, the Budget allocation for the entire northeast is very good. Rs 10,376 crore has been allocated,” Minister Vaishnaw said adding that already 18 railway projects with an investment of Rs 74,972 crore is going on across northeast.
The Minister also said that 60 stations across the northeast will be developed as Amrit stations.
