As per sources, a 27-member team of Punjab Police including IG Prison have also reached Dibrugarh escorting the 4 aides.

In a big development, 4 Khalistani activists, believed to be close aides of fugitive Khalistani sympathiser and self-styled preacher Amritpal Singh have been brought to Dibrugarh via a special Air Force aircraft.

The 4 aides of the Khalistani sympathizer will be lodged at the Dibrugarh Central Jail. And Northeast Live has accessed the names of the 4 close aides of Amritpal Singh, who have been identified as –Sh Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, Sh Bhagwant Singh, Sh Gurmeet Singh Gill and Sh Basant Singh.

As per sources, a 27-member team of Punjab Police including IG Prison have also reached Dibrugarh escorting the 4 aides.

However, it is still not known as to why the aides of Amritpal Singh have been brought to Assam. The police is still tight lipped about the matter.

Meanwhile, in his first reaction to the development, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said,”There was a time when arrests were made in Assam, and we had sent the people (accused) to Bhagalpur Jail in Bihar for security reasons. The Punjab Police might think that they (4 aides of Amritpal) stay in Assam. This is police-to-police cooperation. So I dont have to speak much more on this.

Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh is still on the run from the Punjab police and a search is on to trace him. As per reports, the Punjab Police have so far arrested 78 members of his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De,’, while several others have been detained for questioning. Besides, Amritpal Singh is also accused of maintaining close links with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and terrorist groups based in foreign countries.
