Home Minister Bamang Felix today reiterated the government’s position regarding bringing major reforms in the APPSC as well as framing of strong laws to prevent cases of malpractices in recruitment.
The minister also expressed serious concerns over shutdowns and agitations and said that “these upset the common man’s daily life. Bamang Felix such activities frequntly lead to disruption in economic activity and cause loss to property and injury to stakeholders.
“There are peaceful means to highlight attention to any issue,” he said.
At the outset, I must express my serious concern with bandhs and hartals. These upset the common man’s daily life. These frequently lead to disruption in economic activity and cause loss to private property and injury to stakeholders. There are peaceful means to highlight attention to any issue.
Bamang Felix repeated about the government’s actions taken pertaining to the fulfilment of the 13-point charter of demands as presented by the PAJSC during the all important meeting convened by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on February 18.
“The Government has proactively taken a series of steps to bring reforms in the entire examination system. We have also taken action with reference to almost all issues as decided on 18th Feb 2023. If there was any delay, it is because, we are dependent on some independent agency or because the process is a continuous one,” said the Arunachal Pradesh Home minister.
Felix added,”It is indeed sad that the efforts have not been appreciated by a section of society and they have called a bandh from 10th May.”
While briefing about the actions taken pertaining to decisions taken in the February 18 meeting, Bamang Felix appealed every section of the society to participate in the process of bringing reforms in the APPSC.
Felix in his message said,”The above point by point response to the issues reveals that the Government has sincerely taken steps to reform the system. Any bandh at this juncture is totally uncalled for. I once again appeal to one and all to participate in the reforms process instead of creating blockages by calling bandh calls.”
Worth mentioning, a group of individuals on social media platforms had made posts to initiate a ‘Bandh Call’ for 3 days from 10th to 13th of May. The said individuals had submitted an official letter to the District Administration in regard to the proposed bandh call highlighting that the state government is not working on the APPSCE fiasco in a proper manner.
However, the District magistrate of Itanagar capital has declared it an “Illegal Bandh”.
Sending a clear message to those sponsoring such kind of shutdowns, Home minister Bamang Felix offered his deepest condolences to APPSC paper leak scam whistleblower Gyamar Padang. He said, “Let us not allow his death to go waste. Let us rededicate ourselves in the (i) path of development in general and (ii) reforms in APPSC in particular. Let us do something positive in his memory.”
Rejecting the claims that the government is not doing justice to its role regarding the APPSC paper leak fiasco, Bamang Felix said,”the government desires that those who are involved whatsover he or she may be will not be spared.”
