Whenever you have an idea, write a letter to me: Assam CM to his ‘bhagins’

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that such thoughts and ideas will be converted into reality
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who is more known as the People’s Chief Minister has made a name for himself as a leader of great political acumen.
Fondly called ‘Mama’ (maternal uncle) and popular among the youths, Sarma today urged the young generation in the state, whom he refers to as ‘Bhagin’s (Nephew/Niece) to write him letters, and share any good ideas or suggestions.
Addressing a mamoth gathering in Tezpur, on the occasion of distribution of bicycles to Class 9 students, Chief Minister Sarma said, “Whenever you have any good ideas or suggestions write a letter to me addressing ‘To the Chief Minister, within bracket Mama, Chief Minister Assam, Dispur, Guwahati-06. I will receive the letters and whatever good suggestions, ideas you all provide, I will go through it. Each one of us will make efforts to convert those thoughts into reality.”
During his address, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also stressed on inculcating the habit of writing a letter, despite the fact that there are lot of other options in this modern age of science and technology.
He said, “Do you how to write letters? Nowadays after availability of Whatsapp in mobile phones, everyone seems to have forgotten the idea of writing a letter.”
From governance to politics, Chief Minister Sarma has always been instrumental in working for the larger good of the society as far as governance is concerned or even if one takes into account about the rise of BJP in Assam and the Northeast, in terms of politics.
With this novel idea of seeking suggestions from the young folk, Assam certainly will make rapid strides in terms of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Assam Government today distributed bicycles worth ₹161 cr to 3.7 lakh meritorious 9th standard students across public schools. Of the total beneficiaries, 56% are girl students.
