Unique gesture: Elderly Dimasa women watch first Dimasa movie Waiphri wearing traditional attire

The women wore the traditional Dimasa dress called Rigu rajamphain rikaosa as they walked in to the Hamringdi Hall in Haflong to watch the movie.
In what could be termed as a unique gesture, few elderly Dimasa women dressed in their traditional Dimasa attire went to Waiphri, the first Dimasa language full length feature film.
It was a pretty sight to see the ladies in Rigu rajamphain rikaosa, the traditional Dimasa attire in white and blue colours walk into the Hamringdi Hall in Haflong on Monday to watch the film.
The film released on August 4 and is being screened at multiple locations across Haflong, Diphu, Guwahati, Silchar, and Dimapur.
After watching the film, the elderly women expressed their great satisfaction and blessed the team of Waiphri from their core of their hearts for the grand success of the film. They also expected that many more films in Dimasa should come in the near future and win the hearts of people. They said since the film is the first big screen commercial feature film in the Dimasa language they have come to watch the film in total traditional dress.
Neeha Bodo, the lead cast, said she is very much optimistic that this film would do very good at the box office as the film ran to full house soon after being released. She is also hoping to sign more projects in the future.
The film has been produced under the banner of KimDaula Media, by Swapna Daulagupu and Kulendra Daulagupu, directed by Dipankar Mech Diphusa and Ananta Borah. Story of the film is by Dipankar Mech Diphusa and Zed Nunisa, screenplay is by Jintu Kalita and Kulendra Daulagupu.
Lyrics of the film is by Flyingbird Jaan Kemprai and Pronit Dibragede. Well known singers Zubeen Garg, Ringhamdi Phonglo, Queen Hazarika, Catherine, Arpita Mitherphangsa, Pronit Dibragede and Ahir Bhairab have lent their voice for the songs.
The film has got all the elements of a popular entertainment film.
