Another ragging case in Assam: Junior students of Sainik School, Goalpara allegedly beaten, assaulted by seniors

Yet another case of ragging has come to the fore in Assam. Months after the sensational Dibrugarh University ragging case, a ragging incident has been reported at the prestigious Sainik School, Goalpara in which junior students alleged being physically assaulted and beaten up by seniors.

The heinous act has come to light after the parents of the victim students registered a complaint with the police. Later a team of Mornoi Police registered a case and an investigation is on.

“Investigation into the matter is underway and strict action will be taken against those involved in the case”, said a police official.

It may be recalled that in January this year, Anand Sharma, a M. Com 1st semester student of the Commerce Department of the Dibrugarh University was brutally tortured from November 26 evening till early morning of November 27 following which he had jumped off the second floor of PNGB hostel to escape the torture. It took him around 3 months to recover.
