Shocking: Assam man walks into the police station carrying the head of a man he killed

Has Assam become a crime hotspot? Days after the gruesome Guwahati double murder came to light, another incident of murder has come to the fore in the state.
In a horrific incident, a youth showed up at a police station in Teok town in Assam’s Jorhat district, holding the severed head of the person he had just murdered. He also bought the knife that he used to commit the crime.
The killer, identified as Lohit Gogoi, 24, chopped off the head of the victim, identified as Fai Chaora.
As per police, the two got into a heated argument after the victim made some lewd remarks about Lohit’s sister while the two were in a drunken state. The argument is said to have escalated and led to the gruesome murder. The accused used a knife to commit the crime.
Meanwhile, the police have placed the killer, Lohit Gogoi, under arrest and recovered the knife from his possession. Lohit Gogoi used to work as a truck driver by profession.
