Over 100 people fall ill after eating ‘prasad’ in Assam’s Lakhimpur

A total of 104 people fell ill and currently they have been treated at the local civil hospital at Dhakuakhana.
In an unfortunate incident, over 100 persons fell ill after consuming prasad (offerings to God) at a Naam Ghar (Vashnavite temple) in Assam’s Lakhimpur district. The incident took place on Monday.
The affected people had attended a religious event organised in the village Naam Ghar.
After eating the ‘prasad’, people started feeling unwell and complained of loose motion, vomiting and stomach ache.
A total of 104 people fell ill and currently they are being treated at the local civil hospital at Dhakuakhana.
One person has been referred to Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital for better care.
