Dispur Police has arrested the son and registered a case against him. Interestingly, the father has denied all allegations against his son

Her cries for help will break your heart. Old, helpless, tied to a pole in her own house by her own son. This is the woman who gave birth to him, took care of him, nurtured him to help him become an able human being. But today it is this son who is being accused of tying his old mother to a pole in the verandah of their house, beating her up and pouring scalding water on her.

This heart-breaking incident has been reported from Guwahati’s Hengerabari area near the District Commissioner’s Office.

“Sometimes she comes to our house asking for food. We have been serving her food whenever she comes. Her son used to come and drag her away from our house. He used to thrash her. We feel sorry for her. How much will this old woman bear. The torture and abuse has made her mentally ill,” a neighbour of the abused old woman said.

Police has booked the monster of a son, Samajyoti Bharali for inflicting untold misery on his own mother. Samajyoti is now in police custody.

Interestingly, the father defended his son and refuted all allegations levelled against his son.

“No my son never beat his mother. Why would he do something like that? All that he did was every time she ran away from the house, he used to bring her back home and lock her up so that she does not run away again,” the father said.

Dispur police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
